A sealant is a tooth color coating that is applied to the hard to reach areas, that cannot be cleaned by a toothbrush. To prevent the tooth decay in the places of pits, grooves, and on the biting surface of the premolars and molars (back teeth). Sealants prevent food and bacteria in the deep grooves of the posterior teeth and last for several years. Its life depends on the patient’s eating habits.
